NSX Rear brake swaP??
Hey guys, I have a 94 civic that I am running 91 NSX calipers on with mini cooper rotors and Project MU pads. I am still running rear drums and would like to do an NSX rear brake swap. My question is would the braking force be excessive due to NSXs rear calipers compensating for mid engine placement? I have read into doing this and also viewed the brake swap posts and it appears as it cannot be done... but I have seen pictures online with people running the rears. Any help would be appreciated.
thanks!
thanks!
The NSX uses ventilated rotors that are about 10mm thicker that the non-ventilated kind, so something would have to make up the difference. And yes, the braking force would be a lot more that what you need to balance it out, so you would need to install some means of metering off the pressure to the rear.
I don't know if you still have abs or not, but if you have deleted it, you could possibly use a tilton valve on appropriate hardware to change bias without having to change pads with different combos of bite to accomplish the same thing.
