Hi Honda-Tech, back again with another build. Hopefully I have the chance to finish this one, seeing as the last one was cut short for several reasons and well she gone, however I have kept some parts and picked up another crx. This one is a 1988 dx without rear wiper and squirter (LOL). It has seen some rough days, hit in the front and the rear, has passed inspection to be on the road tho! Anyway here is my thread Enjoy! Input always welcome.
Plans; It will eventually be a track car, boosted K (already have mounts and other k parts). However I want to drive it this summer so its getting a z6 head with y8 head gasket and short ram(parts i already have laying around), just for a little extra pep. It WILL be caged eventually, slowly building it up for 8 second passes.

Here is the only pic I have of when she was bought, came with invidia catback, smokers interior, and some rust (AS USUAL).

Couple interior shots.

Hood spacers i had laying around.

Some more cancer. Gonna have to rebuild some of the inner fender.

Got my fender repairs in from Wolf Steel! The ones off ebay are for the civic which if you notice has a thicker edge around the wheel well while crx rear arches are more rounded. If that makes sense.

Doing some welding remaking parts, welds look like ****, but using flux since gas reg is broken. Still strong!

Remade rear part of the arch

Fiberglass filler to fill pinholes and to help form.

Camber kit installed and on max negative setting. WONT BE ON MAX SETTING

Gonna roll the inside fender lip before paint.

Gonna be heading to the body shop hopefully this week, to finish the rest of the bodywork, blocking and paint. Going to be getting painted championship white, or frost white, have to make up my mind still.

i plan on gluing my rear quarters on my teg, i have yet to find a good article or build to follow that really shows the process. how did you glue your replacement metal in, did you flange the replacement so it sat flush with the rest of the car?

I really like the body panel replacement stuff and it got me a little excited. But F&F and 'phat' made me sad.

I cut the fender slightly bigger than the patch piece I was going to use. Like less than 1/4 inch. Than I welded some strips of sheet metal behind it making a flange basically without using a flanger, I did a weld every 2 inches all he way around, ground em down and glued the panel on, held it in with aluminum rivets till she was dry, got all the rivers off, used remaining panel adhesive to fill in rivers holes, sanded surfaces and then used fiberglass filler overtop.

I have heard decent things about function form, decent enough to get my car rolling this summer!

They are pretty close to the range of koni/GC combo if you purchased them new. What ride height are you aiming to achieve?

Not totally sure what height I'm looking for yet, probably something where I'm not scraping everywhere.

The rear quarters were just over 500 Canadian.

I'm not sure it will be blade silver for much longer haha leaning more towards championship white.

Championship white is tied as one of my favorite colors. I'm always torn between gunmetal grey and championship white.

Sorry for no updates, have been on shift for 3 weeks and now on shift again till the 22nd,

The car is at the body shop currently getting finished and painted. Went with championship white as my color choice will be a huge update once I get it back as I have pics but nothing to upload with. I also converted the front to a 90-91 front.

Thanks for looking,

Matt
