Default 96 Accord positive grounding

With the negative battery cable, starter and alternator disconnected my positive post hast continuity with the engine and grounds. Any ideas. Any common problems like this

Sounds like you got a short to ground somewhere. You can try pulling fuses until the continuity goes away.

Actually now that I think of it, if you had a short to ground on a fused circuit it should blow the fuse.

Hate to ask this but are you sure your battery isn't sitting in there backwards ?

The negative terminal is always facing the outside of the vehicle.

It isnt in backwards. First thing I checked. Maybe a bad starter solenoid. It clicked when attempting to start but no response from the starter itself
The solenoid was extremely HOT!

Disconnect the power wire going to the starter and see if you lose continuity to ground.

You basically have to disconnect things one by one until you lose continuity.
