Default 2007 civic - Ecu does not support mode $06

I just bought elm327 v 2.1 for checking any faults on my honda civic 2007 ex 1.8l but once I try to find a fault or scan it says " ecu does not support mode 06$ wondering if someone could suggest me to resolve this issue.

Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the site.

From what I understand with code readers they can have a wide gap in what the manufacturer calls "latest models supported" . For instance, I was looking at one and it said something like "1989 to present most models -ford-chevy-bmw (Asian market to 2004)" so it might just not know what you are hooking it up to.

As for code reading, I have no clue. I do know you can go to Auto Zone or O'Reilly and they read codes for free if the CEL is on.

Try googleing it. Scanner name, model, then the code its throwing.
