rpms super low when warm and ac on
Hi fellas, i have a question
when i turn the AC on in my 94 accord LX, my rpms dont rise, they stay in the same place, and when the car is fully warm, my idle drops to LESS than 500, to the point of almost stalling, i must also add, that this happens only when the car has a load (in D4), when i have it in neutral or park, the rpms are about 800. what can be the problem here? should i check iacv or adjust idling screw?
thanks

I would try cleaning your IAC and throttle body before tampering with the idle set screw. If you have never cleaned out the EGR it would be a good time to do that as well. A lot of the information on cleaning the IACV, FITV, throttle body and EGR ports are in the FAQs.
thank you GhostAccord, i checked egr ports like 5 days ago, still clean since the last time i cleaned them, i will do that, ill clean TB, IAC and FITV and let you know, thank you.
fixed the problem, but now i have another one. i cleaned IACV, it was very dirty, cleaned the TB and FITV, this last one, i tightened all the way down, now my car idles very high. 1500 when cold, and the problem is, that after a 10minute drive, the temperature does not reach normal operation temp, idk if thats the issue with the high idle or not, what would you do next?
If the car is not getting to normal op temp, I would go with a new t-stat (OE is best). Yes I'm not a fan of throwing parts/money at an issue without testing but the t-stats don't cost much and it sounds like yours is stuck open.
