96 del Sol S harness question help!!!
Ok so I'm swaping a z6 into my 96 del Sol S I was just wondering if I can a z6 harness to it since its a two piece harness? Or what other harness can I use? I did use the original harness but seem to be missing alot of air sensor my car idels and my tb whistle? Any info will help me at this point thanks.
no, you cannot use an obd-1 harness in your obd-2 car. you'll need to piece the two harnesses together. you'll need the 2 wire iacv plug from your z6 harness, and to convert your current harness from 3 wire to 2 wire. 3 Wire to 2 Wire IACV Conversion for 96-98 Civic you'll need the two vtec solenoid wires from your z6 harness, and you'll need to run those into the ecu. .:FFS TechNet : OBD2a ECU Pin out Schematics :. if you're running an obd-2 ecu, you'll need to bypass the ckf sensor, because the z6 does not have one. .:FFS TechNet : CKF Bypass Trick :. finally, you'll need a jumper harness for the z6 distributor so that it plugs into the y7 harness, or to swap the y7 guts into the z6 dizzy. '96 - '97 Del Sols (unlike '96 - '00 Civics) use a 2 piece harness the same as '92 - '95 Civics and Del Sols. Using a Z6 harness makes everything easy, the harness is a direct plug in at the shock towers and you can keep the Z6 distributor (no OBD2 version exists), alternator, and ECU.
