Shocks and Suspension for Auto X?
I have a daily driver and i'm looking to get into Auto Cross. What is a good shock to go with that will allow me to keep my fillings but still handle? And where can I get them for a good price online?

I just don't want to spend a **** load of money, but I was told an upgrade is best. Oh and btw I have a 91' Rex Si with stock everything, expect springs......and it feels like to me my shocks are wearing down...
keep it stock and just autox in the stock class or get konis
learn to drive a stock car well, then modify the car.
HE CAN'T RACE IN STOCK CLASS. he has aftermarket springs. your screwed unless you have your stock springs sitting around.. why are you screwed? in order to be competitive in CSP, which is where you'll be placed with aftermarket springs, you will have to dump another 20,000 in parts and then you'll have to become experienced very quickly. if i were you, i wouldn't bother with shocks, i'd just find a set of stock springs to throw back on, get a nice closed-faced helmet and go racing.
also, if you want a more autox specific forum for crx's, resource.crx.org has an autox forum.

That's the problem w/ autoX, it's so concerned with little class details and PAX times that it's hard to be anywhere near competitive if you have any serious modifications done.
Personally I'd get Koni adjustables.

If you are just out there for fun then does it really matter what class you are in??? Just as long as you beat all your buddies, I dont think it should really matter where they place you.
My mom's fiance races in the porsche at auto x and I think he's got koni yellow's and I'm not sure if he's in the stock class but I think he is, I got an old rule book at home I'll read. I think he said the only think you can change in the stock class is shocks, springs, sway bars, and exhaust.
go to a junkyard and buy some stock springs, get some new good shocks, [not neccesaraly adjustable] and buy some good tires, and go have fun.
if you can afford it, get another set of wheels [same size both diam, and width] and get some cheap racing compound tires. like the kumho victoracers... thatll make your car competitive in stock class, and will be a blast to drive.
