Real cold air intake, a tune up and good tires go along way. no such thing as a simple mod besides replacing the intake. And dont go buying one of those "chipped" ECU's online unless you want it to run worse in the long run and potentially blow from retarded fuel maps and redline settings
Maybe a throttle body spacer like the one from the old Outlaw engineering kit i used to have or You know what made a HUGE diffrence from just $45 and 5 mins instalation and made driving wonderful, fun a sweet when shifting gears?? the weighted skunk2 shift ****! you will love driving with it once on! trust me well worth the money. and if you can jack the car up the energy shifter bushings are pretty easy to install but then again how well inclided of a mechanic are you! this will come down to you and what you want to do with the car.

Paint the trim pieces satin black. Every time I did that it made me really happy. Clean the interior really good and fix missing pieces.
Head over to g2ic and there's a full list of diy things in the archives. Most of them are pretty simple.
