Default Power Steering Leak '94 Del Sol

So I had decided after having a leak dripping from my del sol's power steering, to pinpoint it. After replacing the softline, I had noticed the hard line is leaking at the part I circled in red.

That being said, I have two questions. First, how do I get the clamp off the hardline, and where can I get a new one?

Secondly, can u just replace that piece if hardline with the softline I am using? I dont understand why not, but I wanted your feedback.

Any help is greatly appreciated, I am a novice with power steering units, and am just very thankful it isn't a seal /o-ring I need to replace.

Assuming the part you circled in red is not some sort of valve, you could (in theory) run a longer soft line to the back portion of the hard line.

Due to the lack of space, I don't see a pipe cutter being a viable option so I think a dremel with a metal cutting blade on it would make short work of the hard line just past the part circled in red. Then extending the soft line to the remaining hardline would be a breeze.

My only concern would be knowing that the part your circled is indeed just a clamp and not a valve or reducer or something of the like.

Hmmm, something to find out! Do you know how to remove it?

My wife has power steering on her 93 civic, I'll see if that part is there so I can see it in person.

From your photo.... I have no clue.

won't be until later today after I get home from work.

That is a questionable pipe fitting. I don't recall seeing anything like that on a p/s.

Very well could be. Is it rubber or metal. It sort of looks like a rubber wrap with one of those band clamps on it.

I don't see why you can't just cut the thing off and run soft pipe to the remaining hard line.

So its the front of the car, where the condensor sits, and its connected to the p/s cooler. Why is that other line look like its bent upward?

Actually got clear pictures. What you circled in red is one of Honda's hard line mounts. The rubber pads the metal from harming the hard line. It should just be bendable to loosen and then you can slide the rubber protector away from the spot to verify a hole in the hard line.

As you can see the civic has quite a few of them and you can see they hold the hard lines in place at certain frame/body locations.

And you can see how it's just a bend band holder.

Ahh! So perfectly removable and replaceable is my guess! Thank you very much!

The point is you have a leak that is probably hidden behind it. Remove those rubber covers and confirm the leak.
