Default People with ZEX 59300 cam, read HELP!!!

I feel a flat spot or lag or hesitation or something at 1000-3000 rpm

OK i installed my zex 59300 cam and i adjust ign timing, it's right at 16btdc, the cam timing is stock and it lines up with the white tdc mark.

NOTE: somehow i had to adjust my dizzy to max advance to get it to stock timing

NOTE: my engine is the d16y8 using zex 59300 cam with stock z6 cam gear

When i FLOOR it or even 1/2 throttle, the car makes a weird sound like it's struggling... and it feels really slow, slower than stock cam and kinda slower than if i don't floor it.. this is from 1000-3000 rpm and is more prominent in 3rd and 4th gear. i can still feel this in all gears.

What is wrong? is it my valve clearance? maybe too tight? No one really told me how to adjust them properly. i did it 0.005 in and 0.007 ex but i do'nt know if i did them right.......

the way i did them was i turn to tdc for the piston i'm working on... (i pray my cam timing is right, i think it must be since the stupid white mark lines up when my cam gear is lined up on the block as well).....

after i get tdc, then the piston i'm working on, the rocker arms have free play, i can move them up and down to a small degree (is this correct?)

then i push them UPWARDS against the camshaft, so there is a gap between the valvestem and rocker arm. then this is the gap i adjust right?

i THINk this is right since if you just put the feeler guage in between the stem and rocker without pushing it UPWARDS, then it's going to be wrong right?

help! i think something is not right.... !!!

i don't think people with this cam have this hesitation or loud sound. just feels lag

if your using the z6 cam in a y8 head you have to advance the cam 5* to equal tdc.

I installed this cam in a y8 last weekend. You need to adjust the valves to i think .007 intake and .009 exhaust and you should advance the cam gear 4 to 5 degrees because you are using a z6 cam in a y8 head and the z6 and y8 cams are different.

I have the Crower stage 2 in my y8. I am going to get the car dyno tuned because I have CRAZY AMOUNT OF BOG. If your prob is the same as mine, it is my VAFC tuning, I need to get my fuel map tuned. Wanna talk rich? I burn 1/3 of a tank of gas a day, thats right. Hopefully tuned next week

Yeah, you're telling me. I just hope that it is indeed my VAFC's tuning that needs it. I'm not ready to fork out $400 for an MSD set-up right now.
