Default eibach rear sway bar for 00 civic ex questions

Will the 17mm eibach rear sway bar mount on a asr subframe brace? Yes or no? If not, is there a subframe brace that will allow eibachs rear sway bar to be mounted on. And with the car being used as DD and occasionally tracked does it need a subframe brace.

You would have to order the specific d-brackets and bushings for the anti-sway bar from Energy Suspension.

But these guys-> support@asrparts.com <-can better answer your question.

you really should run a brace if using a rear sway bar. there are ALOT of ripped subframe stories on here from them. if you plan to auto-x, be mindful of the parts you install. something seemingly small can bump you into a much harder class.

The Eibach 17mill is meant to mount like the stock SI 13mill. No brace needed, but you will need the mounting hardware of the SI - it appears this does not come with the kit, see links below - did you even use the search or Google? You will also most definitely need backing plates, either ASR or homemade.

Yes, I have Googled searched this and these links have appeared and I have read them. And so far nothing really solid on anyone using this combination. I have email Eibach and ASR tech support and just waiting on them now.

You're correct, buuuut, I've been running a 17mm Eibach bar for something like a year with no backing plates. just nuts.
But definitely not a bad idea at all, I think they're only like $20 so not expensive.

So I've emailed ASR and Eibach and still now response.

I have read on a another forum that I will need a special bracket that will have the 17mm sway bar mount to the asr brace. Has anyone else heard of this?

So you just mounted on the rear subframe? No si brackets? Pics!

No "backing plates"... you still need to use the factory si brackets.

I've got pictures on my SD card which is no where to be found..

All this and more has been covered so many times ...

Like here, 98civdx, that was a fun and informative topic

You'v been promising to post these for years now

However, your option to use 10mm bolts and drill the brackets is not necessary. I'v run with the stock hardware (and ASR plates) the EK4 15mm for years now and it hasn't budged.

Ok, you confused me for a minute. So you still needed the si brackets. Cool.

Lol I know.

I work 6 12's so I don't have much time, and I need to find a new camera. lol I will definitely try to get some her very soon, I promise!
When I did mine originally I wasn't able to get the ASR plates, so I made do. It may be getting a F7 brace/24mm soon though.

Yes, factory brackets are used. Just substituted a couple 10mm bolts.

So it seems that I can mount a 17 millimeter sway bar to a ASR subframe brace but the 17 millimeter sway bar from Eibach requires there mounting brackets for it to fit correctly on a EJ 8.

I have come across a write up that has used the em1 mounting brackets and customized it to fit the 17mm ARB. They don't really go into too much depth on how they did it. Is there any one here that knows of a link that shows pictures and a better right up

You don't need a brace for anything smaller than 21mm.

There's nothing to customize (unless you go the route I did)

Get the Eibach 17mm bar, and get 17mm bushings for it. Use the original SI D brackets.

You DONT need anything special to do this. It's extremely simple. You're overthinking it and making it difficult.

I tend to do that when I'm adding to the car, will it work, how did work, who's made it work, etc.

Thank for the info

so this thread popping up reminded me I needed to take pictures.

Good thing the car is up the air. I'll try to get some, or maybe a DIY or someshit up by Monday or Tuesday.
