New Member...Just bought my first Civic...I have a few questions
Hello all,
I just snatched up a 1999 Civic EX Coupe that was a 1 owner w/ all the work done at her local dealership...so no modifications, all original.
I've been browsing the threads here for several days now and trying to compile a list of questions.
A couple quick questions...
It looks like 4x100 205/50/15 are the preferred size tires / rims for this car w/o suffering too much ride quality? Any standard go-to rims for this size? Are the si rims the most popular? What about offset? And also any hit to the MPG?
I'm looking at head units and am trying to decide between single and double din. Any opinions on what works best for this car fitment wise? I definitely need bluetooth handsfree / iphone integration so I've been trying to narrow down receiver choices.
What about plugs / wires? Are there certain preferred part #'s? I'd like to do the basic maintenance items first. Anything else I should be thinking about to address maintenance wise? Air filter / CAI? Thermostat? Preferred oil / filter?
FWIW, my background is Mustangs and Regals, so I'm used to the typical mods done to the 289/302/4.6L and L67 Ford and GM motors...new to the Honda mod community (although many years ago I owned a couple of late 80's accords).
Thanks for any and all advice, it's greatly appreciated and I look forward to learning plenty via this site!

The FAQ sticky at the top of this forum may answer a great many of your questions and even answer some you didn't even know you had.

Thanks everyone...still digging thru the FAQ. I have yet to find an easy way to find my engine code? It's not via the VIN decoder. I know it's a SOHC 1.6L
It's the square plate like spot on the left side of the block when facing the car from the front. Right where the block meets the transmission.
wipe the oil away and depending on the year it will either be D16Z6 you see or the D16Y7 or D16Y8. Unless of course it has a swapped engine, then there is another set of D16's it could be.
