Default Ac not cooling properly need help!

Okay so I recently got a 95 civic sedan and when I got it the ac didn't work at all. One thing was obvious, the previous owner unhooked one of the ac lines when swapping the engine and never bothered to reconnect it. Fixed that and help a vacuum nicely for 30 minutes and recharged. Then I found out the climate controls soulder was cracked because the ac wouldn't even come on (no power to compressor) so all was good ac was ice cold it worked great. A few weeks went by and now when it's 80-90 degrees and up the ac almost doesn't cool at all but below that and it's ice cold again. I was told it could be some sort of valve behind the dash that's clogged up? It's the one that converts the liquid back to a gas. Anyway any help would be great because it's 100+ degrees with 70-80 percent humidity here almost everyday. Thanks!
