Default Radiator Fan

Hello,

At what point on the picture is the radiator fan meant to come on?

Last night on the way home from work, i was stuck in a bit of traffic and the needle went up to the red line i drew on the picture but it didn't go down until i was moving again.

I'm guessing if the fan didn't come on?

My came on when the needle went passed half point. But, we all know the oem gage is by all mean not accurate. In your situation, there is a malfunction in the cooling system. Below is a good reading with some good info:

what cw-itr said. I would get it looked at right away. Last thing you need is a warped head/block from overheating issues.

try a new fan switch. OEM gauge will be at the position the needle is in your picture from about 150-215+ (it stays in that position when im on track and temperature has exceeded 215).

Yeah of course, but it's only happened the once.

I'll be looking to replace the thermostat and the thermo switch.
