locked out if reverse and car wont move after clutch install. Help please
Hey guys I'm going nuts trying to figure this out. I did a clutch replacement over the weekend on my 96 ex coupe with stock d16y8. I used a clutch made for a cable trans but used the correct throw out bearing for the hydro trans. So while I had the trans out I decided to seperate the case to put new rtv in there because it was leaking. So I put everything back together and not the car is stuck in gear or something. If I put it in neutral I can't push it backwards or forwards. It'll only rock about 8 inches either way. When I run the car and try to go to reverse it feels like it's locked out and will grind non stop when I try to let the clutch out. I know when I removed the case the reverse idler gear fell out and I put it back in just like the pictures in rebuild threads look. Also the detent springs and bearings fell out. I put them back in but I don't know if there's a certain way to do it. Please help it's my daily driver ???? I've searched forums for hours now and found nothing . Thanks in advance!!!
Ok found out the problem. I put the reverse gear in upside down and didn't seat the snap ring all the way. But any chance anyone know the snap ring size? I destroyed it?
