I want to install two strips of LEDs specifically sold as footwell lights and want them to turn on and stay on when the head lights are on, then turn off when the headlights are off. Would you run them directly to the fuse box? Or are there specific wires I could tap into? Which way would be the best? Thanks
You should wire them in using a relay on the switched circuit, but knowing the type of people who want footwell lights, you're probably just going to wire them straight in. Wire them in independently of the existing fuse, and give them their own fuse. They're just LEDs, so they shouldn't draw too much power, unless they're poorly made.
I'm just really scared of the dark and I want light to make sure that there aren't any goblins down there trying to tickle my feet while I'm driving hah.
So installing one of these,
into the cluster/tail/license plate light fuse slot would work?
