So i wired my subs + to + and - to - then i doubled up on one of them to lead to box. but from the box to the amp i got the wires mixed up. are my speakers or wire fried? i cant get the subs to play. (Planet audio 1500W) (2 Rockfordfosgate 12"s)

 

Whatever you are trying to describe in the wiring makes no sense.

Are any fuses blown, any power lights to indicate if the amp even has power and signal?

 

The amp is working speakers are not. i have 2 12" subs and a 1500w planet audio amp. The way i wired the speakers were positive to the other subs positive and negative to the other subs negative. and then i added another wire wrapped it around the positive and negative terminal of one of the subs and ran it to the enclosure (sub box) but then on the outside of the enclosure (sub box) i mixed up the positive and negatives going to the amp. Yes the power light is on the protection light is not.

 

You must have blown a fuse somewhere.

 

if you have power lights on the amp then the fuses are not blown.

it sounds like you were trying to wire the subs up in series (not sure why you would but bit my place to guess), so look up subwoofer series wiring diagram and use that are your guide.

 

You haven't mentioned ground wire or a remote wire.

Did you bridge it?

 

i wired the subs parallel.Yea i bridged it. And for my ground wire its connected in the trunk, the remote is connected to my JVC head unit. My question is did i mess up anything by the cross up in cordage. and is there a way to test the speakers 1 by 1 (if u haven't noticed by now i am new to the sub+amp set up) (***UPDATE***)(the amp lights up but the power light is off.)

 

I'm going to assume you've blown the amp - which goes beyond the scope of any thread in this particular forum. (personally i don't know enough about the internals of a dc audio amplifier to even guess what might be pooched)

First off, get yourself a 12v light tester like this one : Using a Test Light

Clip onto the power lead from battery, poke the ground and see if it lights up.. if it does, you have 12v power..

Repeat by clipping onto the remote wire, turn the deck on and check the same .. I know the deck will put out low power on the remote wire - someone else can confirm if you'll see the light turn on , but this way you can test at least you have power going to the amp. A multimeter would be a better tool.

If you have voltage going to the amp, and the remote wire works, yea.. its def your amp. I've melted the power supply in an amp before by accidentally putting 12v on the casing (power lead pulled out of the connect. slot). I had to pay a company to redo some work inside, capacitors and what not.
