Default lets get technical

My 1998 Honda civic ex is a obd2 car well I found a computer that im wanting to update to being as I race dirt oval. the computer is a obd1 with obd2 jumper? is that a direct plug and play or what all is needed to use this ecu?

yeah, but that is on the expensive side. you need an obd-1 ecu (p06 is a good choice, they're cheap and abundant), and a jumper harness. if you source your own ecu (should be under $50), and sent it out to pherable.net, they will chip it and provide you with a base tune to your specs for around $75, iirc.

I have a problem I can disconnect the battery terminal on the negative side and rehook it car will turn 7200, then go to rev it again and its stuck at 5000rpm? any clue what this is? its a d16y7 non vtec

Don't have the plug for cels and don't have scanner and don't have a stock cluster in this car

Connect the ground wire of small bulb to the CEL ECU terminal and supply voltage from the battery to the bulb power wire. Short the two ECU terminals for the missing service connector. Watch bulb blink codes.
