Nope, doesn't break down further than that. Give it one last good cleaning, lubricate the center and end tracks lightly, run it through the motions a few times, should do the trick unless something is broken or jamming it somehow. That shouldn't be too difficult to notice.
You can bend the plastic up and over the little lip that keeps the sliding part from coming all the way out. There's two of them you need to do to get it out, you can see them in your picture. If you're careful it shouldn't break.

thanks for the replies, i'll try some lubricant in the track again before i try bending the plastic piece. i know what will happen with my luck.
