Icon2 Removal of underhood fuse box

Does anybody think they can show me how to remove the fuse box underneath the hood. I am trying to run my power wire to my amp but i need to remove fuse box. Pictures please . Or if you can tell me where you personally ran your wires for your subs and amp. (to trunk) (5th gen) (2000 prelude)

I have a 4th gen, but it will be the same. You just use like a 10 or 12mm socket and loosen up the support bracket bolt. On the bottom there is a few big plugs you take off, and under the cap on top there is a wire that goes to the batt/starter, and a ground that goes to a harness. Both wires get taken off. At that point it should be free to remove completely.

Now see the big rubber gromet? "rubber doughnut" thing the harness going into the firewall. There is prob tape, take that off if need be. But pull that whole harness rubber piece out of the firewall. Take a pointy object and stab a hole to run you wire through so when you put it back in the wire will be fine.

The run the power cord through rubber piece and down into the firewall. On the inside you may or may not have to pull the carpet back. But the wire if poked right will come down to the floor board.

Pull off the passenger kick panel and running board trim. Take out the rear side trim and more then likely that means back seat too. lift up the carpet and run under that to the back. Then run into the trunk where it wont be pinched.

Then make sure you have enough slack to reach amp, and put everything back together.

Should only take a hour if you have done before. May be a afternoon project for a first timer. I just relocated my whole battery back there. Thats where and how I ran mine, Im like 100% sure it applies to you too.

Anyhow welcome to Honda-Tech and you should stick around! Post up some pics too, im not sure if you can without 10 posts. But how hard is 10 posts.. Good luck!
