Default 1998 Civic overheating problem

Hi guys im new to Honda tech my names Marcus. I've recently bought my first car (1998 Civic EX coupe) and its been overheating after driving it for about a mile or two. I changed the thermistat thinking it would fix it but it diddnt. My fluid boils and shouts out of my reservoir while im driving. In the morning i check it and look at my hoes and there sucked in like theres no coolant in my radiator. i check my coolant bottle and theres coolant in there as well. I have no leaks of coolant or anything. My fan works but it seems like it only turns on when the gauge is nearly at the H and not on the 3/4 mark. I also did a compression test on my radiator and it loses compression aswell. One of my coworkers tells me i have a blown head gasket but i dont have coolant mixing with my oil. It feels like i have lose of power and my engine idles rough as well. I dont know what to do because its annoying to keep stopping and i dont want to go and sell it either. Please Help

Pressurize the coolant system with the spark plugs out. Shine a flashlight into each cylinder and you will likely see coolant entering one of the cylinders.

This means exactly what your buddy said, a head gasket job is in order. And depending on how badly and how many times the car has over heated will depend on if there is a warped head or block and if it's even repairable.

Might need a motor swap if it's bad enough.

Oh yeah I forgot to mention that I checked my spark plugs for wetness and the dry as well >< but I'll still do that test though
