Motor Mounts Questions
2004 Civic Value Sedan stock. A/T. 66K miles
This is my mom's (granny) car which she purchased three years ago. I will be installing a new valve cover gasket, spark plug grommets, and camshaft plug on it soon. It feels like it idles rougher (for past 4 months) than it used to,,increased car vibrations. However, engine seems to idle fine and drives fine under load. I haven't tested the motor mounts yet but, I have a strong suspicion that one or more is broken. Is this a common issue with 7th gens.?
Which one's usually go bad? If I need to replace which brand do you recommend?
I know solid's are cheaper but will cause increased vibrations (especially during break-in period).

Engine mounts do wear out on the D17 platform. Typically the order of failure goes as such: front, driver's side, then rear. Passenger side doesn't seem to break-down as badly.
Energy suspension makes a nice kit that won't incur a ton of added vibration. Innovative used to make full mounts, but they were solid poly and vibrated a ton.

I'll post results of mounts testing when I get a chance to test them. Got a D16Y8 that I'm almost done with that's been taking up too much spare time.
