A'pexi power intake. '95 Ex Coupe
I had a question on if I should get the kit with the tube or just get the filter? And will a 65mm cone filter fit in my stock intake tube or should I get the exact model filter? Please help.
AEM Dryflow filter, BPI velocity stack, and a cheap intake kit from ebay for the pipe, with the ends trimmed to fit the engine bay. I'm not a fan of the K&N filters because of how quickly they clog and need cleaning and re-oiling.
You can put a filter on your existing intake pipe, and unless you invest serious money in your engine, will give you the sound you want and almost the same unnnoticable power gains, but technically its less efficient than the smooth pipe with a velocity stack at the end. That might make a difference on the dyno, but if you're also not putting a *decent* header on it, high flow cat, 2.25" exhaust on it as well, its not going to do much of anything.
