Default 03 accord ex 4cyl 500 rpm idle/ cuts off

new here, the honda is my dd, it burns oil and has a bad o2 which has not been an issue for over the past year

during my initial troubleshooting the car threw codes for tps and iac
with aic unplugged and tps unplugged idle surged between 1k and 1500k with tps only plugged in idle surge was 4-4500k...with iac plugged in, it did not matter if tps was plugged in or not idle surge was 4-4500k

so about a month ago i went to drive the car and it cut off on my 4 time in 3 blocks, it idles at 500, barely staying alive until it dies. long story shoth the car has a new TPS and IAC. car did alright for a short drive (it was late) it seemed to idle normal, when driving i could tell it was not quite right, felt some surging, and when stopping it held at 2k until i came to a complete stop, figured it needed a relearn,i tried the 3krev until the fans came on procedure, notenly passenger side fan came on. that night, next day the car is right back to the original problem 500rpm idle, no power when i try to take off and will cut off alot. any ideas?

I'll assume you cleared the codes at some point. So what are the current codes, if any?

Cleared codes, new code is p0314 cam postion, everthing I have read so far is its a stretched chain. And chance that it could just be cam position sensor or should I just go ahead and look into replacing chain and gears?...if so I know the burning oil is a common issue with these cars, could this be an easy fix if I tear into it that far?

Also what else is needed othe than chain and gears? Thanks

Matter of time before major damage is done, if not done already. The 0341 might have showed up a while back and since the light was on, you just assumed it was the "same old codes".....now the chain has gotten bad enough that it has bent a valve or two.

Compression test the engine and see what you have. If the compression is good on all cyl's, get the timing chain job done ASAP....consider yourself lucky it it is just the chain.

The biggest reason to see chain this code is low oil levels. So if you get it rplaced, there is no other cure/fix for the 0341 - you need to get into a habbit of checking the oil level on a regular schedule.....at least every two weeks.

I looked up awhile back that burning oil is very common with these motors, do you know the cause/fix of this?

There are many things that cause a loss of oil....evrything from the simple PCV needing to be replaced to much more complicated.

Right now I would be worried about the chain.

yes that is my main concern, i was just wondering if there was a known issue for the burning oil that is most likely to be the cause, however i decided to not tackle this job myself, i can have it done for 300 in labor, +parts cost so should be around 450 at max which i feel is a great deal.
