Error code 20 ELD after swap
Hello,
As many know error 20 ELD can be a pain to trace. I just performed a swap and got the error. I was using a 3 wire alternator and a Canadian ECU which does not look for the alt charging wire ( 4th wire on alternator plug ) .
Turns out my JDM p30 ecu requires it ( pin A16 in obd1 ecu , pin C2 in obd2b harness) ( or Pin A19 in obd2a harness ) .

Hope this helps a few others.
( After searching many jump to conclusion its a busted ECU or bad alternator, many times it is a bad alternator, but if you knew it was working before hand worth checking out the alternator 4th wire ) .
