Started my 60K service this morning
Finally got around to doing my 60K service this morning. My R just breached the 240K mile mark. I got the old plugs out, put the new ones in. Pulled out the old plug wires, the got the distributor cap off. and I see the tip of the coil pack that pushes into the distributor cap has corrosion and the plastic is brittle. So I wasn't prepared for the coil pack to be in that condition, so I had to order one online today. Here are some pics. Let me know what you guys think on the color and condition of the old plugs. To me it seems I'm running lean on cylinder 1 and slightly, very slightly gets a tad bit better as you get to cylinder 4, which is slightly golden brown, IMO.
The spark plug pics are in cylinder numeric order, first pic is cyl. 1, 2nd is cyl. 2, so on......and the last pic of all plugs together is left to right, cyl. 4,3,2,1. The lighting makes the color of the plugs a little more golden brown than they really are, I tried the flash but it just washed out the white areas on the ground electrodes. Then there is the pic of the worn coil pack end.
Cheers!

Not sure if its the detail of the camera and how close you are to plugs?.... But the all look like ****... lol... sorry to be blunt...
These are seriously old plugs. You cant get a good idea of how your currently running by looking at plugs that have thousands of miles on them.
Change over all your parts, put in some new plugs. Do a few 3rd gear pulls and check the plugs. Then report back so we can see what those plugs looks like.

Lol no worries. The car will be down for a week or so, im waiting on the coil which needs to be shipped in from another warehouse. If i have time to do your suggestion to do some 3rd gear runs ill post new pics
I just realized something, isn't there supposed to be a spring or coil on the end of that ignition coil? Or is it that our cars don't have one there? When I pulled off the distributor cap, there was no spring/coil on the end of it, but pics ive found on google and youtube vids all show a spring on the end, at least for other integras?! So has mine been arcing this whole time? lol! The has ran just fine, and has started just fine. WTH?! loL! Can someone please confirm for me? I'll post a pic later of the inside of the distributor cap, there is a lot of yellowish white crud in it, just like whats on the end of the ignition coil in the last pic above.
I checked the parts diagram on acuraoemparts.com and it shows a spring/coil associated with the ignition coil....part#12

I'm honestly surprised it's been running. Hopefully you went with OEM replacement parts and not OEM equivalents.
Side note the last time I changed the cap and rotor on my car I went with OEM equivalent and regret doing so. Not to say it wasn't time to change but my car died after driving it for 2 miles and had to push it home. That was interesting, secondly I changed he ignitor and coil with OEM pieces and solved the issue.

I always use OEM Honda parts when They are available. There is a reason why they cost more and it not bc of dealer mark up lol. Its bc the quality and reliabilty are in these oem parts. I work in the semi conductor industry, and in the quality assurance dept. and i see first hand how quality and reliablilty affect our customers, and i also see that some of our memory chips we make need to be sold to different tier customers. So a piece of advice for you guys, be weary when you see memory on sale for an extremely ridiculous price or a hard drive is prices really low, chances are that there could be an issue with it later on in its life. Lol. But back to the missing spring maybe it fell out as i pulled the cap off? I chkd under the car this afternoon and i didnt see a thing on my garage floor, so maybe its some where on top of the trans or some crevice that i cant see into. Bc its pretty much impossible fir the car to run w/o it. Lol
