Just recently picked this car up. The following day after leaving it in the garage I noticed 1 or 2 very little drops of what appears to be MTF. I looked under the car and where the transmission and longblock meet it is moist with MTF. I dont have a lift but before I go take it to someone that does, is there anyone that might give me a few leads on where to look and what it could be? Thanks in advance.

 

Clean the transmission of fresh MTF and trace the source.

Worst case scenario is a bad transmission seal (input shaft) or a transmission case leak.

More commonly, the axle seals leak.

 

Genius. In either case looks like the axle will have to come off. I'll put it on a lift clean it up and go from there.

Hey, out of curiousity, if the Tranny is overfilled, would it be leaking out of the axle slot?
