Hello fellas!

Got a 1998 Honda Civic DX Coupe, it's been raining here for the past 2 weeks... I hadn't started the car for about a week since I was on vacation. Started the car and let it warm up for a few. Went to drive it and every time I hit the throttle it would sputter and burp up as if it's about to die.... So I parked it, it kept raining, next morning it won't start... Waited till later in the day till the rain stopped... Car started and I drove it a good 45 minutes... Rained all night... This morning, can't start it again, it just keeps on burping up and sputtering. It actually started for a few seconds but it didn't even idle, it was just sputtering so I shut it off.

I know! Too much to read and I'm ranting but ANY help would be appreciated!!!

change your distributor cap

 

perhaps you have a full CAI setup and your intake is getting swamped?

 

Maybe bad, old spark plug wires.

 

These are where you should start. When was your last full tune-up? If moisture is getting into your cap, it'll fry your driveability (and may fry your coil/ICM, too).
