Default 94 del Sol interchangeable parts question

Hello, I have a 94 del Sol S. I need a new rotor, distributor and distributor cap and i was wondering if there any civic models that i can salvage these parts from rather than spending 500 dollars. Please be specific if you can with the year and model of the donor car, i will be checking local junkyards for said donor vehicle.

Thanks in advance,
-Kyle

Yes any 92-95 DX civic distributor internals will be fine.

Is your engine a D15B7?

If it is then yes all the engine parts of the Civic CX/DX will work.

The one spot that will vary is the starter. There is one style for manual and another for automatics. You will of course match up to what your vehicle is.

The other thing that can be different is some internal parts of the head between the CX (D15B8) and DX (D15B7) for the USDM. CDM the CX and DX are identical engines.

The distributor for both is the TD41U.

Am I the only one wondering why in the hell those normally incredibly cheap parts are so god awful expensive?

Probably because OP doesn't know how to shop around. You can get a new (new new, not reman'd, no core deposit) from Rock Auto for $115, cap and rotor included.

No need to be rude. The stealership quoted me 500 dollars and I figured this would be an easy part for me to change myself and learn a little bit in the process.
