My First Honda In Almost 8 Years - 2000 Civic
Ok I kinda lied. This is MY first Honda in a while. My wife currently has an 06 Accord and we had an 03 Pilot prior to that so there has been at least 1 Honda in my driveway at any given time since 1996.
As you can tell by my join date, I have been a long time member here. As you can tell by my post count I never posted much. Mainly just lurking and learning back in the day. I finally got "back in the game" though a couple weeks ago when I picked up this gem! I used to have a 97 ITR (#107), but sold it in late 2007 due to a growing family....and really wanting a truck (because a Type R doesn't make for a good vehicle to take to the woods for hunting). The past year or so I have been loosely keeping an eye out for an older Civic or Integra to be a daily driver/toy. I came across this one on CL a couple weeks ago, and it seemed too good to be true so I called about it, went and looked it over, and bought it on the spot because it really was that nice. You would be hard pressed to find a 2000 anything, let alone a Honda Civic in this shape. Here's the details...
2000 Civic DX Hatch
Bone stock (except for window tint)
98,500 miles w/ a clean car fax
Exterior is about an 8.5/10 (Zero rust, just a couple of tiny dings and a few bad touchup jobs on the front bumper)
Interior is a solid 9.5/10 (A new drivers side floor mat and a good detail and the inside of this car would look brand new. Not even exaggerating)
Mechanically the car is pretty much perfect. I saw all the paperwork for new timing belt, water pump, tires, brake pads, and oil change all done in the past 2 months.
My plans for the car don't include much for now. I ordered a new head unit and will replace the factory speakers because AM/FM only wont cut it for me. That's it for the inside. For the exterior I would like to get some different wheels, at least for summer use. I'm not thinking anything fancy or expensive though. Just some Si wheels probably. I plan to pull off the pinstripes, and eventually paint match the mirrors, molding, and skirts. Probably get CTR replica lips as well one day. That's really about it. Like I said, this thing is just going to be my daily driver and it's just in such good shape I'm honestly afraid to really mess with it much.
Just wanted to share it with you all. Here are a few exterior pictures. I'll throw up some interior pictures once I get the new head unit installed. I currently have the dash torn apart.

HAHA Y'all have spoken. No "replica" cheap ebay junk! I promise. I do have an OE black Si lip that was given to me when I bought it. Would that be ok?
Also forgot to add earlier, that a little headlight restoration will be in the works soon as well. They are just a little on the hazy/yellow side.
Oh, and I have a question. I keep hearing that these cars are rare to find in white. What's the deal with that? Did Honda just not make many white ones in 2000?

Did a little headlight restoration on her this weekend. They weren't really too bad to begin with so it wasn't very labor intensive. I used the Mother's brand "Nu-Lens" kit. Came out really good. Also got the new Kenwood head unit put in so I can listen to something other than just AM/FM.
I forgot to take a before shot of both, but in this picture you can see the drivers side is done and the passenger side is not. (ignore the bug splatter everywhere)

Both done. The reflection of the sky in this picture doesn't really do justice to how good they came out.

The Si lip looks exactly like the ek9 lip so yeah that would work, just color match it. It will look 100x better than black.
On another note, I have finally discovered my only real problem with this car. It has a leaky trunk. I got into it the other day after a few days of heavy rain, and it smelled like old wet towels inside. Got to digging around and found almost 3" of standing water in the spare tire well. I did some searching on here, and after closer inspection it looks like water is getting in around the tail lights, which seems to be pretty common. Guess that will be my next project for it.
