Does anyone know were does this wiring come from. it runs along the side of the alternator on a D16y8

It comes from...the engine harness. Is this a trick question? Don't be vague, and we'll be able to help you. Also, you say EJ8, but then you say D16Y7. The EJ8 does not have a Y7 in it from the factory.

Not trick question my ej8 has the d16y8 i apologies but im trying to figure out were its coming from due to the alternator belt chew it up

 

It's part of the engine harness. That's all there is to the answer. If you want to replace it, you have to replace the entire harness.

 

Pan out a bit and take some more pictures. We may be looking at the CKF wires.
