Default 2010 Crosstour Issue

I have a 2010 Crosstour and it has been a great car. I have around 60,000 miles on the car and have maintained the car on a regular basis. Last week, the check engine light began blinking and the stabilization indicator also came on. The car suddenly felt rough as it idled at a complete stop. I began to make my way back home knowing this was unusual and fearing there was a serious issue. The only way home was on the highway. At 40 mph, the car was extremely rough and it was missing (hesitating), then it would jerk into the next gear. At 60mph, the car ran much more smoothly. I took it in to an independent mechanic and he stated there was a significant engine issue and I would need to take it to the dealership where hopefully the extended warranty would cover the issue. Has anyone else experienced this and if so can you tell me about your experience?

Common thing on all Honda J35 V6 with VCM.

Cliff:

- Honda extended the engine warranty. 8 years and XX? miles.
- Let the dealer fix it. One to three spark plugs are bad.
- Of you can replace the plugs yourself. But you won't get the updated software.
- If the dealer have no clue what you are talking about and make you pay for it, you can get your money back from Honda.

Thanks Cliff - I should have read a little deeper in to the thread prior to posting - I do see this is quite common. Never had issues with this car until this happened. Thanks for your response!

As much as searching is nice, feel free to ask too. I didn't know it was "common" until this happened to me...on both my V6 powered Hondas.

Hi. Similar story, but mind was a newly purchased 2010 Crosstour. 62k. Right after I purchased it. He could not fix it. Five days later it went to the Honda dealer close to them for three days. They changed the spark plugs and flushed the transmission fluid. This seemed to fix the problem. Two weeks later my engine light was flashing. I check the transmission fluid. It was low. I brought it back to Honda. They topped off the fluid and thought I would be fine. The car will not shift out of first gear, the engine was racing, speedometer read zero when I was going 15 to 20 mph. Drove it back to Honda.
As a goodwill gesture Honda is replacing the transmission. I owned the car for 48 days, 1500 miles.
