Sooo.. just bought this beautiful 6 speed accord with the j30.. unfortunately I missed 4th and hit 2nd gear.. revved the **** out of the motor.. like possibly about 8-8300 rpms.. now I have what seems to be a loud valve ticking noise, that i figured was a bent valve. however I checked my timing and it is on, and I did a compression test and all of the pistons are running about 162-170 COLD TEST pounds.. I can't tell whats going on.. it sound like only a couple valves.. but my brain is totally friend from trying to figure it out. Is it possible that I need to adjust all of the valves? It has a bit of a subaru burble. I used a screw driver to listen in on the motor and the sound is definitely coming from the head.. needless to say I feel like a total idiot for making such a dumb mistake and I need all the help i can get.
UPDATE. Pulled my intake off and my valve covers.. Upon some inspection I found this.. I shattered a roller on an exhaust valve.. In the process of inspecting for more damage on the rear valves now..
If you look closely you can see the roller is gone
