So, the previous owner of my 99 EM1 installed a Pioneer head unit. Im guessing he did it himself, because the black plastic seems to be a little separated and it rattles pretty bad and makes the inside a lot louder. Do any of you have suggestions, or possible experience, with making these sounds go away without putting tape on it or something obvious. Is there a way to seat it into its original position by some way and make it unnoticable?

 

3M double sided tape works wonders. Also, a proper install "kit" can be found for pretty cheap that should solve your problem.
