Troubleshooting brakes remotely
My friend's father has a 1996 Integra GSR that he autocrosses. Great car with lots of work, but he's been having a weird issue with the brakes. When driving home the other week, the rear brakes locked up . . . this was after the ABS pumped started buzzing for a minute or so at each startup. I told him to pull the ABS fuse and make sure the ABS reservoir was filled. He says the rear brakes are still dragging so I'm going to have to head up there to take a look.
What should I bring with me since it's a two hour drive there and the closest auto parts store or dealership is at least an hour away from his house. Here's what I'm thinking:
- Purchased a backup ABS pump and have replaced the orings
- Speed bleeders and lots of brake fluid to bleed the entire system
- New rear brake pads
What else should I bring and what else should I look for?
Thanks,
Steven
