please help me fix my integra a/c air conditioner
hi, trying to get my a/c to work. it does not turn on at all when i turn on the ac. compressor does not click and fan does not turn on, but both fans turn on at operating temperature via coolant temperature switch. hot wired the ac compressor and it clicks on ok. both relays work fine and is getting power. tried jumping the ac pressure switch with a paper clip, nothing turns on. there is enough pressure in the system.
also ran all the tests according to my helms manual and my haynes manual. so kinda stuck. any help will be appreciated. if i remember any other symptoms or tests that ive performed ill post it up. Thanks

Are you sure there is enough freon in the system? I think it holds around 3 cans.
First check for power on the wire for the clutch, if there is no power check if the relay is clicking, also check for a signal comming out of the switch on the a/c control unit, check for any broken wires.
Use a test light or volt meter to check the fuses

yes there is enough freon. took it to a a/c recharge place today. they tried to charge it, but said that the compressor wont kick on because of electrical, or other, issues.
checked power at both compressor clutch and condensor fan relays. both have power and both relays work fine. the only thing that causes the relay not to click is the circuit coming from the ecu. 12v constant, ignition, and #30 supply is fine. hot wired it and clutch ticks and fan comes on. all fuses are fine.
i will have to check the a/c switch then.
thanks bro
anything else i can check? please let me know. even tried to bypass the pressure switch to see if anything kicks on, but nothing. what is the next thing to check? what can be defective?

according to the helms, i should try to replace the thermostat. how do i remove it? the wire seems to lead all the way to the back of the dash where i cant reach.
i will test the diode and see how it goes.
thanks

just tested the diode. works perfectly fine. a/c pressure switch is fine.
there are 2 wires from the ecu that goes to the clutch and fan relays. when i ground the 2 leads they both turn on. they are A15(ACC)blk/red and B5(ACS)blu/red. so any chances it's my ecu? they each go to #85 on the relay.

i had this same problem and did the same diagnostics u did, check the underhood fuse box and find your fuse for your compressor i changed out my compressor and realized it was the fuse, also make sure your fan is even getting power

already checked that fuse, and all other fuses are fine. nothing wrong with condensor fan or the fuse, relay, or wiring. both fans come on at operating temperature, but nothing for a/c

You gotta remove the evaporator, the thermostat will be mounted above the fins on the evaporator. You just need to remove the glove box then drop the evaporator and blower motor. Get yourself a $20 Haynes manual from autozone, that's what I followed, it's actually a pretty good manual.

If you are bypasssing the sensors and powering the clutch to engage, the compressor should spin. If it is seized the belt will be making horrible sounds when the clutch engages.

i already have that haynes sorry for asking. anyways i went to the yard today to pick up 2 ac thermostats for free. i just cut the wire and wired in the new one and the a/c started right up. so i am really happy

yes compressor did spin freely and made no noise; nor did the belt.
well that concludes this issue. thanks to all that helped me. if anyone has the same issue, go ahead and try to replace the thermostat.
