i may be crazy, but it looks like the bolt on the left saw some heat/has some discoloration to it. it was the only one like that, and is pictured next to the other rod bolt from my #3 cyl rod. eagle h beams and arp 2000's. bolts were torqued to 43 ftlbs with the moly. motor was around 500 hp and never had any major or catastrophic incidents. the bearing looks good and no discoloration of the rod itself. i dont have a stretch gauge but with my dial calipers it measured the same as the other bolts
Even new rod bolts are usually a few thou different length over the range of the set. Are you telling me yours are all exactly the same length?

i couldnt notice a difference with the dial caliper. its graduated at .001, so between that im estimating. the needle was in pretty close to the same place, which id have to say is about .0002ish deviation to the other bolt from the same rod. id assume more than that id notice the needle on the dial gauge being off a bit. i need a good micrometer set both for smaller things like this and to measure piston diameter as well. its on my list of things to buy this month.
