Default Shock fork collars

The directions on koni yellows say to reuse the shock fork collars. These are the collars that came on the OEM honda shocks that the fork grabs onto (see photo below), and aftermarket shocks usually have these rings welded on. Given that my car is 15 years old, my OEM shocks are long gone, and no local salvage yards carry these cars anymore. Honda doesn't sell them separately. I've been poking around ebay and might be able to get them if I buy a full shock spring assembly, but that's like $150 which is kinda ridiculous just for the collars. Talked with koni and they say they're required or the shocks will slip down the forks. Has anyone successfully sourced these collars and/or run into this issue?

People remove the rings to get a little more suspension travel (you can sink the shock into the fork further). I hate doing things the wrong way. But...you're probably just fine without them.

I have a pair I think. I took mine off to get more suspension travel.

LMAO, good call. Forgot rear had attach points built into the strut. I'm at work paying like 42.4% attention LOL.

So yeah... I should have both rather.

I ran without them for a long time with no issues... the notch in the back of the shock for the pinch bolt is enough to prevent the fork from sliding up. I'm running them now just for peace of mind, came across a couple of cars at the junk yard that still had the factory shocks on them and tapped the rings off. Had the extra pair powder coated with all of my other stuff for if/when ever I see the race car again
