Tachometer at 4k rpm when off
Hey guys,
I have a tach from an EG 5 speed, might have been a manual sedan that i got out of the junkyard that seems to want to sit at 4000 rpm while off. I pulled the tachometer section of the cluster out and with it not powered or connected to anything (just the face and back silver drum of coiled wires) it still wants to be at 4000 RPM vs. being at zero. I can move it with a magnetic screwdriver to zero and it just bounces back to 4000 when i move the magnet away, but my question is how can i get the tachometer to return to zero and stay there?
