Hello I have a 97 civic lx 1.6, was driving home Friday and it just sputtered out and died, thought it was out of gas so I put a few gallons in it, nothing. Took it home so far I've checked fuel, it has fuel all the way to the fuel rail, not sure of psi but seems to be decent pressure. Checked spark, changed cap and rotor, icm has spark as do the spark plugs, ok so now I'm completely lost. Has fuel, has spark, just cranks, also I checked to make sure timing belt was still in place, looked good to me. Please help!!!

 

Check the mechanical timing. The timing belt may have skipped a tooth.

Is spark bright white at all 4 plugs?

 

No spark is more of a yellow, did notice my spark plugs had a gas odor on the end of them

 

Yellow = weak spark. Ohm test coil. See FAQs sticky.

 

What should it read? How many volts

 

Coil pack, maybe shorted??

 

No maybe about it, that coil is toast.

The black is where it's been arcing to the metal.
