Default B20vtec supercharger or turbo

Looking to add some forced induction to my b20v. Bottem end has forged internals. 11.1 compression supertech pistons (84.5mm) on eagle rods. Have read into b20 cylinder walls being slightly weak & breaking under increased pressure from boost. So my question is, who has had this happen? Who has a b20 or b20v boosted & has not run into this issue? Would my compression be a little to high for boost? Would using a supercharger for a more even power bands & less of a surge in pressure help reduce the likely hood of blowing the motor?

my DB8 is street tuned. stock b20z block stock b16 head w/ gsr cams. I'm guessing around 250whp

my dc4 is dyno tuned at 300whp and 250trq stock b20b.

Your comp is a little high for turbo unless you got high grade gas in your area and a really really good tuner. but thats just my opinion. Ive never had a problem with my b20 blocks being stock.

The question isn't "is my compression too high for boost", the question is "is my compression too high for the fuel available, and the competency of my tuner". If you have 93 available, and your tuner has half a competent brain cell in his head, no, your CR is not too high.

Im a noob here to the honda acura forums but not to boosting and i had a supercharged 4g eclipse with 10.1 compression and stock internals and the boost was harder to control even with a great tuner and i sugest turbo becase u can control boost and there are many failsafes out there for turboing to help save your engine. Im sure if youd take the extra time and money and have your blocked sleeved with golden eagle youll be able to run much more boost not have to worry about your compression being where it is and with a very knowledgeable tuner youll get the most out of your b20 boosted build. Dont take shortcuts and risk your engine my friend spend the extra cash now save yourself the headache of being the one to prove the stock sleeves can only handle x amount of boost before having to replace your motor.
