B18C: cam cap bolt help keep rocker arm rod in place?
I am disassembling a B18C1 head to have it inspected/repaired at the machine shop. The intake side rocker arm rod is very difficult to remove (the exhaust side was stubborn but removed easy enough). My concern is that I also have 1 cam cap bolt that is broken off in the head (from the previous owner). I do not want to attempt to force the rocker arm rod out with a hammer, etc; if the cam cap bolt protrudes slightly (1 or 2 threads).
Or is it just a coincidence that one rocker arm is tough on the side that has a broken bolt?
I have both of the oil orifices removed from the head, so the rod should move. I did some searching, and it appears others have had to tap the rod out; but the bolt & rod interacting is my question.
Thank you,
Josh
