Default Tucked turbo coolant lines.... overheating?

I've been researching for months... day and night. Recently, I've done a full shaved/tucked on my bay. Of course, I also tucked my coolant lines using 6AN fittings. So, the configuration now is: radiator bottom ---> turbo ---> block. I cant think of anything else why my motor would overheat after about 30 minutes of normal driving. I've done all the basics except remove the thermostat. So far, I've replaced the thermostat, temp sending unit, burped the system and checked fan rotation. the only other thing that I've done during my tucked process was go from a 14 inch pusher fan to 12 inch pusher fan but with higher CFM. It could also be my HG but the expansion tank have never overflowed and oil is not milky.

I'm thinking that maybe the flow of coolant is inefficient having to go straight from the turbo then to the block.

Please chime in. Your time is greatly appreciated.

no. Its not the coolant going from turbo to the block. that is a very common configuration with today's block adapter/freeze plug fitting setups. It sounds to me that the pusher fan that you're using despite the higher CFM is not sufficient enough. You may also want to check intercooler/ radiator clearance.

But turbo coolant lines don't effect the block like that. The coolant isn't being super heated from the turbocharger to that degree to cause overeating conditions.

thanks Shodan. My radiator/intercooler clearance was the same as before I did the tuck so I dont think that's the issue. However, the fan could be the culprit so I will switch back to my 14 inch and see if the same issue arise. Thanks again!

If its overheating while the car is moving a decent speed constantly, its not the fan.

Also, the water pump is brand new OEM.

Just for clarification, when you say coolant lines and how you have things routed (radiator, turbo, block) you are NOT talking about your radiator hoses correct? Also, have you checked your radiator hoses for kinks? How did you bleed the system of air?

definitely not rad hoses. I was talking specifically about turbo coolant lines. My rad hoses are OEM routed, no weird routing, no tuck radiator, no kinks, no AN modified rad hoses. I bled the system using a no-drip funnel. Ran the motor like that for a while and allowed the fan to cycle on its own to make sure that the thermostat triggers it.

I'm gonna look into the fan. I do have just an eBay bought 12 inch fan. Looking at FAL or at least a Flex-a-lite... I have to remain on pusher set-up tho since I cant really fit anything for a puller.

SPAL or Zirgo only.. You keep buying lower quality parts, it'll just get worse
