Default 1998 Cr-v transmission.

Hello folks,
I owned a awd 1998 crv for about 3 years now , is been nothing but a headache for me,Any ways the latest problem for me is that while on the way from the mall, I realize smoke was blown from my exhaust , when I git home I find out the oil return hose into the transmission have a huge hole that blast transmission oil all over the engine bay. I thought a simple replacement of the hose might solve my problem , however when I tried to move the car up to the
drive way it just won't drive when I put into drive., yes it is a automatic trans. Figure I might have to replace the the tranny either way.
So I am asking you folks is their a step by step with pics on removing the tranny links to guide me .

Did you try filling up the transmission with ATF to replace what was lost first?

No CRV specific write-ups that I am aware of, but it is just like any other Honda transmission removal with the exception of removing the 4 bolts that connect the propeller shaft to the transfer case.

So you saw a smoke plume from the back of your car and didn't stop. Found transmission fluid had been spraying on the exhaust but didn't refill or even check your fluid? Then attempted to drive it with known fluid loss? Please explain how ANY of that is logical. There is a high possibility you burnt your transmission up due to these actions when it could have been saved. You may get lucky by refilling the lost fluid, but it's still a gamble. I would not advise you to attempt pulling the transmission yourself. Good Luck!
