EG Power Steering noise (w/ video)
Hi guys,
My del Sol's power steering is making a weird noise when turning the wheel to either side and even when I just rev the engine.
The suggestions I got before were the fluid level is low or there is air in the system and well, its none of the above.
I replaced my fluid with new PSF from Honda and bled the system according to the service manual but the noise is still there.
Power steering working perfectly fine by the way, I just don't think this is really healthy...
Anyone has a suggestion? Or I should just replace the pump and see what it does...

Jack up the car take the wheel and try to move it from 9 o clock and 3 o clock positions, do it firmly. Now move it in the 12 o clock and 6 o clock positions. Here any noises or feel any play?
Sounds like the pumps trashed. If it's completely bled and its topped off with fluid and it still makes that noise then I would replace the pump. Either that or you have a massive restriction in the system.
Thanks for the ideas. I don't have the car at the moment but I'll check all these things out next week and definitely comment here what I found.
IMO, it's not the belt. When belts are lose or too tight they are making different noises I believe. I also don't think it's the rack. If it was the rack I would get the sound even if the engine wasn't running, wouldn't I?

A couple things here. The pump is the only thing that can make that noise. Belts either chirp or squeal. Also if you take the belt off, there will be no noise. The belt runs the pump, the pump runs the whole system. Like I said before, if the entire system is 100% completely bled then it's either a trashed pump or a severe restriction in the system.
If you have a stethoscope put the end on the pump while it's running I guarantee you that's where the noise is coming from. Obviously I know you won't be able to do that right away cause you just said you don't have your car with you at the moment. Also if you don't have a stethoscope, You can pick one up on Amazon for less than 15 bucks.
