i drive my civic ex everyday and my gas light never comes on. Yesterday I ran out of gas about 4 blocks from a gas station (whew!) and also whenever i turn right my gas needle goes down and when i turn left the gas needle goes up... wtf is wrong with my car?

 

I dont think 92-95 has gas lights. but dont know much

 

my 94 coupe doesnt have a gas light. im sure everyone else's US civic doesnt have a gas light.

LOL. That is the same with my car. When I make left hand turns, go down a hill, or brake kinda hard the needle on the gas gauge goes up. When I make right hand turns or go up hills, the needle goes down. It kinda pisses me off because I really don't know how much gas i have sometimes.

 

I think it is because of the location in the tank where the gas gauge sender is. Though i could be wrong.

are you telling me all this time i just thought i never pushed my tank far enough to empty?
i get over 300 miles on a tank and have NEVER gone over 10 gallons at the station.
there is NO LIGHT?
why is there a damn spot on the cluster for it?!

 

i bought the jdm cluster...that solved my gas light problem.

 

You have a bad Fuel Sending Unit like me!! It's located under your rear seat on top of the gas tank (under the silver cover--3 pin connector). Try shorting out connector 1 and 3 and see if the light comes on in your cluster. If it does, then it's broken. If it doesn't, the light bulb burned out.

take your cluster out and see if there is a spot for a gas light, if so purchase the blub from honda and put it into the right spot on your cluster and presto you now have a gas light. also it could be that your blub has gone out or just dosent work.
If all else fails keep track of how many miles you have traveled on a tank of gas.

 

i know. i ran out of gas numerous times trying to push it and there is no gas light. i dont know about the 96+ civics though.

 

YEa it pissed me off too when i found out i had no light, so u just have to watch it, i never let it pass the red, when its sitting flush on the red part, im sweating hard and nervous

i always find myself looking to take the route home that has the most left turns, and fewest right turns too keep that needle up
