A/C Cutting off (thermal switch?)
Hi All,
I have searched this and other forums regarding my issue, but really cannot find the answer. My 2008 civic EX a/c cuts off after a few minutes on warmer days. The problem has been getting worse over the last year. By that I mean it seems to cut out sooner than before. I suspect the thermal switch on the compressor, but don't want to rule out that the compressor/engine is actually getting too hot. The temp gauge (dots really how good are they) stays normal and always has.
What steps can I do to isolate my issue? If needed I can dump, evacuate and recharge my system if need be.
Any help?

these models are notorious for failing relays. Swap one from the fan circuit. Or what I do is press firmly on the top of the relay and it will cut the compressor Off if it's bad. Under hood fuse box houses the relay and if you look under the fuse box cover it will look like a snowflake. That's the compressor coil Relay.
