I would like to use the red transparent paint to give my 95 tailights a similiar look to the 98 and ups. Has anyone did this? I was wondering if it will come looking goofy b/c of the red over amber. If anyone has pix it would be greatly appreciated. Thanx guys

 

i've seen it done. they dont look as good as the 98+ lights..

 

Ah ****! I was hoping it would look good. Anybody else know of a way to get the same look without buying the 98's? Thanx again for the replies.

 

I painted mine with some JDM red paint. I forgot the brand tho.. Pics arent that great tho..

 

I painted mine, they came out a little darker than 98-01 lights but i like it that way. The paint works well. Make sure when you paint it, not to hold the can too close to the lights. You dont want bubbles. Also, put a couple layers of clear coat to make it shiney

hahah, so more people can harrass me for film.
Tinted with red 3m film. Same stuff used with my clock kit and misc. Good thing about this is that you can remove it without leaving a dull finish.

btw, most people don't notice on the teg unless they take a second look.

btw, i don't have any film anymore but you can search for it from a window decal/vinyl graphics place.

you can tell
just get the 98+'s
you can find a set for $50, where a can of "jdm" tinted tail light spray is $24 at the local race shop (no joke, $24.)

krylon doesn't make stained glass spraypaint anymore, so fi you cant find it, that's why.

i tinted mine. only looks good cuz it's black tho.

Thanx for the insight H-Tech members! I really like the lights when they have a little darker red appearance to them. MT3C thanks for the picture of the teal Teg b/c thas the same color as mine (unforunately, but Im copeing w/ it). Im going to attempt bake the taillights and put that film or maybe paint the inside red. I'll try to post pics A.S.A.P..


MT3C, I did the amber treatment to everthing but the climate controls and it ROCKS!
