Default Best turbo for no more than 600usd ?

I want turbo my car I limit the turbo price with 600usd. Now I can only find 2 turbo for this price 1 its Borg Warner 200sx
2 its turbonetics 54ar if I'm not wrong. I'm not looking for more than 280hp. I need the best turbo for my project but also for no more than 600usd. Any idea?
Engine is h22

I really want try ebay turbo but from what I know it won't last for long and also it could damage the engine maybe. It's pretty cheap most turbos there less than 250 bucks

theyre hard to get a hold of, and the wait time is about a month right now since theyre so busy, but they can make you a replica 6262 for 550$, plus shipping. (they can pretty much make you any t04e frame turbo you want. from a 50mm up to a 62mm. They use better internal parts than precision does. I have bought two turbo's from them, both were great.

I think the best turbo for that power is an oem Evo 8 . You can get an oem Evo turbo manifold , cut off the exhaust flange and weld on the honda flange. You will now have a true twin scroll setup. Those turbo cost like $250 used and are very reliable

Cut and weld the manifold? The OE Evo manifold is stainless? Surely you're not talking about cast?

You'll need two of those to get what a Honda b-series makes with one. Rotaries require much larger turbos due to their behavior of wasting exhaust energy.

Well for your goal of 280whp, all you need is an ebay t04e turbo for about $135 and you can make 300whp at about 12psi.

A better question would be. How much hp the engine will hold on stock internals. That I cannot answer. I ct9 toyota turbo at 20psi flows less that a ebay t04e at 9psi. Its not about how much psi on stock internals it more about how much power will damage connecting rods.

I am aware of that. I am testing it on a street ported motor. I will be using a gt42 with t6 1.32 ar on a semi peripheral port motor soon.
