Default Auto Trans Advice from folks who have done it

I have spend a few hours pouring over the forum and others on this.

bottom line, mint 97 prelude with 80K. auto triptonic is toast (I already pulled the solenoid off and check it, it was clean, worked find and had actually been replaced at 60K).

I'm seeing tons of used transmission for sell from japan for 800 bucks with a 30 day warranty. I have also found a remanufactured source for 800 bucks from a company I never heard of (12 mth unlimited mileage warranty). All of these warranties don't cover labor, just exchange.

Auto shop wants 2800 for used with 12 mth warranty covering trans and labor.

I think I'm going with an 800 dollar version and put it in myself, or , at worse, have the shop do it for another 800.

I'm looking for advice on a company that has had good reviews for the 800 dollar version. Basically, where is the best place to get one?

If it was me sometimes its a better deal to pick up the JDM H22 motor as well. Then sell the motor and make a few bucks...
